On Sunday, May 31, Irish pub Taramoa will offer a relaxed Sunday service with a lineup of draft beers that each have distinct personalities. Hours are 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Last call for drinks is 10:30 p.m., and food orders are accepted until 10 p.m.
Draft Beer Lineup for the Day
The regular lineup features Guinness, Shiga Kogen Beer IPA, and Yebisu. Two daily specials are added to that. One is Ikari Brewing's Irish Red -Nitro-. Its hallmark is the fine foam created with nitrogen gas, making it a style that lets you slowly savor the calm, mellow umami of the malt. The other is Daisen G Beer’s DAISEN G BEER MILKSHAKE IPA. This hazy-leaning IPA uses lactose, giving you a combination of soft sweetness, tropical aroma, and a clearly defined bitterness.
While the staples offer anchors like Guinness's roasted character, Shiga Kogen Beer IPA's sharp hop bite, and Yebisu's easy drinkability, the red ale and milkshake IPA change the mood, making this a day where you can easily compare a wide range of beers from dark styles to hoppy IPAs.
A Pub That Suits Sports Viewing
Taramoa is a beer pub in the Yoyogi-Hachiman/Yoyogi Park area and supports sports screenings with a screen and audio. This day’s Kirin Challenge Cup match, Japan vs. Iceland, kicks off at 7:25 p.m. It’s an easy setup for gathering around the match and watching with a beer in hand.
Food includes roast pork and a pub-style plate served with warm vegetables and mashed potatoes, and takeout is available. Because you can enjoy not only beer but also a meal, it’s an evening that flows smoothly from an early pre-match visit through to a post-match finish. It is scheduled to be closed the following Tuesday, June 2, and Mondays and Wednesdays are regular closing days.
