'Yachiyo' Arrives in a Spring Version

At Tokyo ∞景 (3F, Hakkeizaka Building, 2-2-7 Sanno, Ota Ward, Tokyo), Omori Sanno Brewery's 'Yachiyo' is being introduced as a spring version. A seasonal beer has been added to a beer pub where you can enjoy Omori craft beer on a regular basis.

What Kind of Beer Is It?

'Yachiyo' is an original craft beer born from an idea proposed by students in the Faculty of Design at Tokyo University of Technology. The style is an India Pale Wheat with restrained bitterness; it uses Belgian yeast and three hop varieties: Saaz, Galaxy, and HBC472. In addition, tea leaves are added to give the aroma more complexity while leaving the refreshing character of green tea and a touch of astringency in the finish.

Tasting Highlights

Numerically, it has an alcohol content of 4.5% and a volume of 360 ml. Centering on hop aroma while connecting the softness of the malt with the nuance of tea leaves, it is the kind of beer for people who want to enjoy layered aromas and a light drinking experience rather than the strong bitterness of an IPA. It is also easy to pair with spring meals or with occasions when you just want to slowly enjoy one drink.

The Story Behind It

This beer was named with the lineage of the earlier 'CHIYO' in mind, along with the wish that it would be a beer loved for a long time in the streets of Omori. Drinking it at a place like Tokyo ∞景, where you can savor beers that carry local stories, lets you enjoy the background as part of the experience.
