A collaboration event underway at a back-alley beer pub

craft beer Extra Hop, located on the first floor of the Okuno Hosomichi Building at 2-6-25 Chuo-machi, Oita City, is a beer pub that connects craft beers from Japan and abroad. As befits its back-alley location in Okuno Hosomichi, the interior has an easygoing atmosphere where anyone can stop in without feeling formal, and the counter-centered layout also makes it a good fit for solo drinking.

The post announced the final day of the collaboration event with Le TAMAÏ, noted that some food items had changed, said that weekends would be open straight through from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and asked customers to order at least one beer and one food item. It also reflected the brisk pace of the place by mentioning that once food sells out, the staff serves up improvised menu items.

The beers on tap that day

- Next Horizon / Pizza Port Brewing Company
An American IPA. Brewed with Citra, Motueka, and Strata, it brings out citrus, grapefruit, and stone-fruit notes. A beer for people who want to fully enjoy hop aroma.
- 903 / KUNITACHI BREWERY
An Altbier. A calm, balanced beer that combines deep malt richness with a gentle fruity aroma. Best when you want balance over flash.
- CAL DUSK / Beppu Brewery
A Red IPA brewed as Extra Hop's fourth-anniversary beer. Its design layers hop aroma and malt nuance over a deep crimson color, giving it the presence you would expect from a commemorative beer.
- Limited IPA / Yokohama Bay
Just tapped, with only a few glasses left at the time of the post. Because the tap turnover is so fast here, finding beers like this is part of the appeal.

What makes the place worth a stop

Extra Hop is a shop whose character changes with the kegs on tap, with around seven taps at any given time. It draws a wide range of beers, from domestic staples to beers from overseas breweries and local collaboration releases, so there is real enjoyment in drinking while following the labels. It works equally well for trying small pours alongside food or for taking time to savor a favorite glass. Since it is in the central district within walking distance of Oita Station, it is easy to work into a night out.

This post was both an announcement for event hours and a way to share the direction of the beers currently on tap. With IPA, Altbier, and Red IPA in the lineup, there is something there to match different moods.
