Shinkichi Brewery, a brewpub located in Wakamatsu-cho, Takasaki, Gunma, is set to appear at the B&B Fest.

The brewery is run by a chef who has worked as both a Japanese cuisine chef and a sushi craftsman. Its beers are developed as “food drinks” intended to accompany meals, particularly Japanese cuisine, rather than simply emphasizing a strong, refreshing finish.

The brewery’s approach is to create beers meant to be tasted on the tongue, with intentionally restrained carbonation. The brewer carefully considers the relationship between hop bitterness and food ingredients, incorporating seasonal fruits and unusual vegetables to express the character of each season.

The post also introduces a braggot made with honey and malt. Its gentle carbonation and smooth mouthfeel are expected to highlight the beer’s delicate flavors while allowing it to work naturally alongside food.

Visitors to the festival will have an opportunity to explore Shinkichi Brewery’s food-oriented brewing style. Those who enjoy the beers can also visit the brewery’s Takasaki brewpub in Wakamatsu-cho, where the drinks can be experienced in a setting closely connected to the brewer’s culinary background.
