Shinkichi Brewery to release anniversary royal stout 'Tariki' on July 23
Shinkichi Brewery in Takasaki, Gunma, will release a limited anniversary beer, Tariki, starting July 23. The 2022-brewed royal stout comes in 750 ml bottles, with only 30 bottles available. Sales are limited to the brewery taproom, one bottle per person.
A limited dark beer for a 10th anniversary
Shinkichi Brewery announced on Instagram that it will release a special beer to mark the 10th anniversary of its izakaya, Izakaya Shinkichi. The shop opened in the summer of 2016, and this summer it enters its 11th year. To celebrate the milestone, the brewery will sell Tariki, a royal stout brewed in 2022, starting on July 23.
In the post, the brewery says that in recent years it has focused on making beers that improve with aging. Tariki follows that idea and is positioned as a limited anniversary release. With 8% ABV, it is a substantial stout built for a slower, fuller drinking experience.
The release is tightly restricted. It will be sold in 750 ml bottles for 4,000 yen before tax, with only 30 bottles available and one bottle per person. Sales are limited to Shinkichi Brewery only. For beer fans visiting Takasaki, this is the kind of small-batch, brewery-only release that shows the character of a local brewpub very clearly.
