ONE's Brewery's KLS wins Japan Gold and Country Winner at World Beer Awards 2026
ONE's Brewery in Osaka's Nishi Ward has announced that its flagship KLS won both Japan Gold and Country Winner at the World Beer Awards 2026. The result follows last year's Japan Silver and again highlights the beer's easy-drinking Kölsch character.
The World Beer Awards, organized by Paragraph Publishing Ltd. in the UK, is a judging competition where beers from around the world are evaluated through blind tasting and winners are selected by style. At the 2026 edition, ONE's Brewery said its entry, KLS, earned both Japan Gold and Country Winner.
ONE's Brewery started production in January 2019 in Osaka's Nishi Ward and has long emphasized what it calls the "ultimate drinkability" of beer. Rather than chasing flashiness, the brewery focuses on beers that people can keep enjoying glass after glass. KLS is the brewery's flagship and is built around Kölsch, the traditional beer style from Cologne.
On its official site, KLS is described as having a clean mouthfeel and a gentle, floral aroma. It is listed at 4.5% ABV and 16 IBU, which fits the brewery's clear focus on balance and drinkability. Coming after last year's Japan Silver, this latest recognition suggests that ONE's Brewery's approach is resonating well beyond Osaka.
