New tap: “Shirokujichu”

At BEER SPACE on Tap in Motomachi, Kobe, KUNITACHI BREWERY’s `Shirokujichu` has been added as a new tap. The beer is a 3% micro IPA and won a bronze medal at the 2024 International Beer Cup.

According to the post, it is a beer that goes beyond the usual expectation of a light low-alcohol pour. The aroma leans tropical, with notes reminiscent of passion fruit and mango, alongside a floral edge and a subtle berry nuance. The palate is described as dry rather than watery, with bread- and toast-like malt character and a pleasant bitterness holding the whole beer together.

Today's on Tap

The tap list also includes `FUKUOKA CRAFT / Lemon Ale`, `Repubrew / Mr.GREEN TACKLE (N2Ver.)`, `BLACK TIDE / KESENNNUMA PRIDE`, `Minoh Beer / Hoppy Weizen`, `SORACHI 1984`, and `BLACK TIDE BREWING / Hazy Wave`. The post notes that `Hazy Wave` and `SORACHI 1984` are close to kicking.

A laid-back beer pub in Kobe

The bar is located in the basement of Kobe Plaza Hotel, making it an easy stop in the Motomachi area. The post also says the bar is operating at a relaxed pace tonight and welcomes walk-ins, which fits the venue’s role as a place for an after-work pint or a late-night detour. A live broadcast of Japan vs. Tunisia in the World Cup is also scheduled for 12:00 on June 21. For drinkers who like both a rotating tap list and a calm setting, this is a useful stop in Kobe.
