The beer pub Mugibaru in Nishi-Kamata, Ota Ward, Tokyo, shared its in-store beer lineup while drawing attention to a merchandise idea that began as an April Fools’ "fake story."
On tap right now are COEDO’s "Marihana" Session IPA at 4.5%, Vertere’s "Magnolia" Double IPA at 8%, Y.market Brewing’s "Minamichita BLOOD ORANGE IPA" Fruit IPA at 6%, WCB’s "Summer Breeze" DDH Hazy IPA at 6%, and Asahi’s "Jukusen" Pilsner at 5.5%. The selection is set up so you can compare beers across a range of styles and temperatures, from light and easy-drinking session beers to a Double IPA with firm bitterness and body.
The next lineup also includes Yellow Monkey Brewing’s "Godzone Beat" NZ Double IPA at 8.5%, Hime Beer’s "Karan Iyokan Fruit Ale" at 2%, St. Gallen’s "Pineapple Ale" Brut IPA at 5%, and Ise Kadoya Beer’s "Hat Trick" TDH Hazy IPA at 7%. With fruit-driven aromas on one side and hop-forward beers on the other, the next update is something to watch.
Mugibaru is also known for offering sweet potato shochu and fresh sashimi of natural bluefin tuna, in addition to beer. Dogs are welcome too, making it an easy choice whether you want a casual drink in Kamata or a relaxed meal with drinks.
