Blade Factory Brewing in Seki, Gifu Prefecture, has announced a new beer: "KASUMIBA 霞刃 - Kohia Nelson Hazy Pale Ale." In the post, it is introduced as the second release in the Hazy Pale Ale "KASUMIBA 霞刃" series.
The star of this release is the New Zealand hop Kohia Nelson. Described as Freestyle's signature passion fruit blend, it is said to layer sweet, tropical aromas reminiscent of passion fruit, orange, and guava juice with a complex citrus character leaning toward pink grapefruit. Using it as a single hop creates a composition that lets the hop's personality come through clearly.
The beer style is Hazy Pale Ale, and the ABV is 5%. The brewery says it was crafted with a balance between a tropical yet deep aroma and a silky, light body in mind. It will be sold in 15L/10L kegs and 350ml cans, and for businesses, orders can be placed through BEST BEER JAPAN or by direct message.
As a brewery that has consistently rolled out distinctive new releases in its home region of Gifu, this hop-forward release is also one to watch as an expression of the series' direction.
