A new release that reimagines saison for the modern day

Yokohama Beer Brewery, as the local beer company with the longest history in Yokohama City, has continued making beer with ties to local culture and producers at its core. Founded in 1999, the company is now launching "Yokohama Saison," the sixth entry in its canned beer series.

The beer, set for release on April 1, is based on a recipe that reflects the roots of saison, which Belgian farmers once drank to quench their thirst between summer farm work. The spicy, floral aroma of classic Belle Saison yeast is layered with the citrus and tropical-fruit-like character of the latest hop, "Krush," creating a beer that balances saison tradition with a modern aromatic profile. With an alcohol content of 4.5% and an IBU of 17, it is designed to be easy to drink.

The product comes in a 350 ml can with a suggested retail price of 427 yen before tax. In addition to retailers nationwide and the official online shop, it will also be rolled out sequentially at YOKOHAMA BEER STAND on the first floor and at the main restaurant UMAYA, both operated by Yokohama Beer. On the launch day, April 1, a release event is also planned at UMAYA and the first-floor beer stand, giving customers a chance to enjoy "Yokohama Saison" inside the store.

Suggested pairings include white fish carpaccio with dill and early-summer vegetable dishes. True to its identity as a local Yokohama beer, this new release seems poised to offer a brief pause in busy everyday life while evoking a sense of connection to the city.
