Taps for May 4

The beer pub Bakushu Yumeyomi in Gion-Shijo, Kyoto, is announcing that it will be open on May 4 (holiday) from 15:00 to 22:00. It is a small, easy-to-stop-by place where reservations are not accepted, making it the kind of spot you might want to casually drop into for a drink while strolling around the city during Golden Week.

The first draft worth noting that day is Faló Brewing's "GLORIA" OCEAN WIT. Built on a Belgian white base, it combines Okinawan seawater salt, grape sansho pepper, and yuzu juice, creating a light drinkability with clear salt and citrus accents. It is presented as a refreshing beer that is easy to reach for even as temperatures rise.

Also on tap are Yorocco's "Submarine Forest" and Shirosuzume's "Hanauta," but both are said to be selling out quickly, with service expected to end soon. If there is a label you are interested in, it would be best not to wait and to head over earlier in the day.

Bakushu Yumeyomi is known as a beer pub in central Kyoto where you can take your time with beer. Rather than flashy presentation, it is a place that lets you enjoy the condition of the draft in your glass as it is, and the light taps that appear around seasonal changes suit it well. Whether between sightseeing stops or after work, it is the right place for a day when you want to quietly check out a refreshing draft pour.
