At the beer pub Beer Cellar Ichinomiya on Ushinodori in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture, two guest beers with very different personalities have been newly tapped.

The first is "SHINOGI -Peacharine West Coast IPA" (ABV 6.0%) from BLADE FACTORY BREWING in Seki, Gifu. In the post, it is introduced as a new version in the West Coast IPA series "SHINOGI," using the New Zealand hop "Peacharine" as a single hop. It is described as a beer in which a sweet nectarine-like aroma is followed by a refreshing citrus note like lime zest, with an emphasis on balancing bitterness and malt character.

The second is "awta-アウタ-" (Style: Grape Sour Ale, ABV 7.5%, IBU 10) from Koppukotan Brewing in Kamifurano, Hokkaido. It uses hops from Kamifurano and grapes from Nakafurano, and carries on the context of the ORIGINALS+ series, which makes use of grape pomace generated in the winemaking process. The 2026 version uses Zweigeltrebe for the red component and Chardonnay for the white, with a design that layers berry, cherry, herbal, and citrus nuances over the acidity from sour yeast and grape-derived acidity. Its slightly orange-tinted rosé color is also a highlight.

Being able to compare an IPA that puts hops front and center with a sour ale that makes the most of local ingredients at the same time is exactly the kind of selection this shop, known for its strong curation of guest kegs, does well. For anyone who wants to enjoy craft beer in terms of both "clarity of aroma" and "depth of ingredient background," this is a lineup worth checking out.
