Vi Again Brewing in Gotemba, Shizuoka, unveiled the collaboration IPA "EASY LiFE IPA" on Instagram, made with Taro-chan of the Saito couple, who quit their jobs. Using Krush, Simcoe, and Motueka, it is a West Coast IPA that balances citrus and dank character.
Vi Again Brewing (Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture) has unveiled the collaboration IPA "EASY LiFE IPA" with Taro-chan of the Saito couple, who quit salaried work. This time's theme is "citrus dank." The star hop is Krush, known as a hard-to-find variety, layered with Simcoe's dank character and Motueka's lime notes to create both a wide citrus profile and the sharp outline of a West Coast IPA.
The finished beer is designed to deliver bright aromas while still offering firm bitterness and a crisp finish. At 7% ABV, it is built not to emphasize heaviness, but to keep the drinking experience light and lively. Even the commentary envisioning it around a campfire, as the first toast, or slowly sipped while enjoying conversation makes clear where this beer is meant to fit.
Vi Again Brewing is a brewery based at the foot of Mount Fuji and brews with natural water from the mountain. It focuses on making beer that suits gathering places such as campgrounds, bars, and events, and this collaboration follows that direction. The label illustration was handled by akkaaakooon, giving the whole project a strong collaborative feel. It is an IPA that is easy to drink yet clearly distinct in its hop design, and one that deserves attention as a signature beer from the brewery.
