SanktGallen TAP ROOM in Hon-Atsugi will tap its fifth-anniversary beer, “PENTA CITRA,” on October 20.
“PENTA” refers to the number five. The beer uses a single hop variety, Citra, in five forms: T90, Cryo Hops, DynaBoost, HyperBoost, and YCH 303. By combining these different hop formats, the brewery highlights the citrus and tropical character associated with Citra while giving the beer a layered hop profile.
The label and coaster feature a black cat rescued near the brewery’s factory. The cat is the same age as the taproom, and this year’s design shows it holding up a large number five. With cat motifs also drawing attention at the Atsugi Oktoberfest, the black cat makes an appearance at the taproom as part of the anniversary celebration.
