A New Product That Makes the Most of Setagaya Lemons

Tokyo’s Setagaya-based "Futako Beer Brewery" has released a new product, "A Slightly Hoppy Lemon Sour," made with ripe pesticide-free lemons grown in Setagaya. It went on sale on March 30, 2026 and is available not only at the brewery’s directly operated stores but also through its online shop.

This product came out of Futako Beer’s ongoing approach to product development that makes use of local resources. Founded in 2015 in Futako-Tamagawa as a local brand, it has shaped a drink that reflects Setagaya while staying centered on flavors that fit naturally into everyday life.

Flavor Features

"A Slightly Hoppy Lemon Sour" has an alcohol content of 5.0% and comes in a 350 ml can. It uses lemon, hops, beet sugar oligosaccharide, brewing alcohol, and carbon dioxide; the lemons are hand-squeezed for juice, and the peel is used as zest.

The key point is its design, which uses the whole lemon. While bringing the fruit character to the foreground, it adds hops with a citrus aroma, giving the light, refreshing feel of a lemon sour added depth. It is a new release that reflects Futako Beer’s signature approach, applying techniques cultivated through craft beer brewing.

Also Available on Draft at Directly Operated Stores

Sales locations include Futako Beer Brewery, Futako Beer Seta Brewery Unagiya Taproom, and the online shop. At the directly operated stores, it is also served on draft. The retail price is 540 yen before tax.

Futako Beer has continued making products with a focus on its connection to the local community, even with its standard beers. This lemon sour can also be seen as an extension of that approach. How do you turn Setagaya ingredients into a drink using brewing know-how? This new product is one answer worth paying attention to.
