Charun is described as having rich tropical aromas of mango and stone fruit. Its smooth, juicy mouthfeel is balanced by a restrained bitterness. The beer’s name refers to Charun, a figure in ancient Etruscan mythology who guides the souls of the dead to the underworld.
The current tap list also includes FLORA FERMENTATION’s FLORALIA IPA, a Fresh Hop IPA; INKHORN’s Titipounamu 2026, a New Zealand-style IPA; NAMACHAん’s なまちゃんのオクトーバーフェスト, a German-Style Märzen; BREWCCOLY’s 褻麦酒, a Saison; and CAMADO’s 河内晩柑サワー, a Sour Ale.

On the day of the announcement, a local festival was being held at the neighboring Naima Shinmei Shrine. Grau opened at 1 p.m. and served until 10 p.m. Guests were also told that food purchased at the festival could be brought into the pub, making the event an easy occasion to pair local festival fare with a fresh pour of Charun.
