Atagawa Banana Crocodile Garden has released a new product, "Izu Banana Pils", in collaboration with Hansharo Beer. The release date is April 23, 2026, and it marks a new approach from the garden, which has previously mainly used ripe bananas, this time focusing instead on green bananas.
This beer is made with Taiwanese bananas (variety: Senninjyo) grown by Atagawa Banana Crocodile Garden using geothermal heat, and finished as a pilsner. A tropical, refreshing aroma derived from green bananas layers with a clean, lager-like crispness, and when you take a sip, fruity notes reminiscent of bananas and white or yellow fruits spread across the palate. It has an alcohol content of 5.0% and an IBU of 15. It comes in 350 ml cans, and this is also the garden's first canned beer release.
The package features an all-over label of the mascot character "Banio." Sales will be rolled out sequentially at the Atagawa Banana Crocodile Garden main shop, the official online store, the Hansharo Beer official online shop, Hansharo Bussankan Tannan, Hansharo Beer Stand, and other locations.
