BeerO'clock Bottle Shop in Chiba has added four Passific beers to its guest lineup. The new arrivals span a wide range of styles, making it easy to compare a tea sour, a classic-leaning IPA, a hazy IPA, and a dark double IPA side by side.
- JAZZ'INN (First Flush Sour / ABV 4.0%) is a tea sour ale brewed to mark the 17th anniversary of Que, a tavern in Chigasaki. It uses Benifuuki tea from Kagoshima and brewed tea as part of the process, giving the beer bright lactic acidity and a fragrant Japanese black tea character.
- Fond of Bone (Kanariyan IPA / ABV 6.0%) was brewed for the eighth anniversary of Kanariyan, a Chigasaki food stall. This third release takes on IPA directly, with piney, citrusy hop aromatics and a bitterness profile designed to work well with food.
- MU (Spacey Hazy IPA / ABV 5.5%) is a collaboration with Sneaks, the special unit formed by Kakuozan Larder and Early Birds Breakfast for the Mori, Michi, Ichiba event. Orange and mango notes are joined by hassaku peel and cardamom, with a soft texture and a playful finish.
- Demon Work (Black Double IPA / ABV 8.0%) pushes the Black IPA idea further. Citrus and pine hop aromas meet roasted malt character, and the beer is said to fold in elements reminiscent of Passific’s Bonfire and Metal Work.
