Four beers for summer

Persona brewery, a brewpub in the Asahi area of Kofu, Yamanashi, introduced its Tap 5 to Tap 8 lineup for the second phase of the Kofu Beer Fest, held on July 27, 28, and 29. As a place where guests can usually enjoy house-brewed beer on site, the brewery is bringing a lineup built around fruit character, freshness, and easy drinking.

The lineup

- KAKIKURO - A fruit stout made with fully ripe persimmons. The brewery describes it as a beer where roasty malt character and gentle persimmon sweetness melt together naturally.
- Hoppy My Sunshine - A Shine Muscat pale ale. The beer is designed to burst with bright grape and hop aromatics the moment the glass comes close.
- Yuzu Weizen - Brewed with yuzu from Fujikawa Town, Yamanashi, peel included. Soft wheat-beer texture meets a clear citrus aroma and a subtle bitterness from the peel.
- Umegumi - A plum sour ale made from four types of plums. This seasonal beer is brewed for summer and leans into a crisp, refreshing acidity.

Why it fits Persona brewery

Persona brewery is a brewpub attached to its brewery, so the appeal is not only the beer itself but also the chance to drink it fresh where it is made. That local, on-site character comes through clearly in this lineup: a stout with depth, a fruit-forward pale ale, a citrus wheat beer, and a sour ale with sharp summer lift.

For beer fans, the second phase of the festival should offer a compact look at what Persona brewery does best: beers that are grounded in local ingredients, but still easy to understand and fun to drink.
