One beer tapped today: Shiga Kogen Beer’s Hazy IPA

UNDERGROUND Craft Beer Akabane announced the new tapping of a guest beer in a post on April 9. The beer introduced this time is Shiga Kogen Beer’s "SNOW MONKEY IPA". The style is Hazy IPA, and the alcohol content is 6.0%.

In the post, the shop said, "Snow Monkey is one I absolutely want to drink every time," and explained that Shiga Kogen beers tend to disappear quickly once they go on tap, so they brought in more than usual this time. As for the flavor, it is described as having the full, hazy mouthfeel you would expect, while finishing dry enough to pair well with food, suggesting a nice balance of richness and drinkability.

The shop is a beer pub and bottle shop about a 4-minute walk from Akabane Station. Focusing on American and Japanese craft beer, it offers up to 12 taps and more than 100 kinds of cans and bottles. It is also convenient for food that pairs easily with beer, such as handmade craft gyoza. Since it opens at noon, it is also a good place to grab the first drink of the day early.

The post also announced upcoming events. A "Indoor Hanami Event" is planned for April 19 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and a "Wild Ale Tasting Event" for April 26 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. While enjoying the latest beers, it may be worth keeping these events in mind for reservations as well.
