15brewery to Connect Five Beers on Tap on May 23, Including Bottom of the Swamp and Wheat Land
15brewery in Hayama, Kanagawa, has announced its tap list for May 23. In addition to the Belgian-style "Bottom of the Swamp," a stout, and the fruit-forward "Orange Ale," the lineup also includes "Wheat Land" and "Raw Hazy IPA," both made with baguettes from Miura Bakery Mitsumugi. The brewery is operating as takeout sales only.
15brewery (Fifteen Brewery), located in Hayama Town, Miura District, Kanagawa Prefecture and operating as takeout sales only, announced its tap list for May 23 on Instagram. In the post, it said the standing bar is currently closed and that sales are by measure only, with takeout available in sealed bottles, carbonated PET bottles, and screw-cap glass bottles.
The lineup for the day consists of five beers, each with its own character. For beer lovers, it is an arrangement that makes it easy to compare how each style expresses itself.
- Bottom of the Swamp: A Belgian-style beer. It uses a generous amount of wheat malt and combines orange peel, coriander seed, chamomile, and clove with lime from Owase City, Mie Prefecture, and honey from the "Hachi-goya" beekeeper in Nagai, Yokosuka City, creating a bottle where sweetness, acidity, and spiciness come together.
- Stout: A dark beer. Its defining features are deep richness and an inky-black appearance.
- Orange Ale: A fruit beer. You can enjoy the intense aroma and acidity unique to orange.
- Wheat Land: A wheat-forward beer. A light-bodied beer with plenty of wheat malt added to barley malt and aromatized with hops that give off a white-wine-like fragrance. Made with baguettes from Miura Bakery Mitsumugi.
- Raw Hazy IPA: An IPA. Brewed using the Raw Ale method, in which the wort is not boiled, this beer emphasizes hop-derived citrus and pine needle aromas as well as bitterness. It also uses baguettes from Miura Bakery Mitsumugi.
As you would expect from a Hayama brewery, the piece shows careful attention to ingredient combinations and aroma design. Since it is operating as takeout only, this tap list is well suited for people who want to choose at the counter and then take their time comparing the beers at home. Business hours are listed as 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
