A Kölsch-style beer inspired by autumn osmanthus

Repubrew Mishima Slider House 24taps has brought back Gomaibanohana no Kinmokusei. The beer was originally brewed for the anniversary of the Mishima location, and this new version uses higher-grade osmanthus to create a richer aroma. Its hop composition has also been revised.

The beer is built in a crisp Kölsch style. Czech hop Sladek is used for bittering, adding a refined noble-hop character, while Sladek and Saaz contribute herbal and lightly fruity notes. These hop impressions blend with the sweet, gentle fragrance of osmanthus.

Crisp carbonation and a dry finish

In the glass, the beer presents a clear gold color reminiscent of osmanthus flowers. Firm carbonation gives it a lively, refreshing character, while German malt provides a soft foundation before the finish turns dry. At 4.5% ABV and 10.95 IBU, its bitterness is restrained and the beer is suited to food pairing.

Suggested pairings include grilled herb chicken, white-fish carpaccio, and vanilla ice cream. The first two dishes should complement the beer’s delicate herbal and floral profile, while the dessert highlights the sweet aroma of osmanthus.

This release is also available in cans, making it easier to enjoy beyond the taproom. Located in Mishima, Shizuoka, Repubrew Mishima Slider House 24taps offers a 24-tap craft beer lineup in a casual beer-pub setting. Gomaibanohana no Kinmokusei is a seasonal-feeling pour for drinkers looking for a fragrant, clean, and food-friendly beer.
