And Beer Koenji taproom lines up plum Weizen and peach beers for August
And Beer’s Koenji brewpub has published its August schedule. The lineup includes a release of Super-Ripe Nanko-Ume Weizen, a peach-beer tasting, morning service days, and chicken biryani timed with the Awa Odori festival.
And Beer, the Koenji brewpub in Tokyo, has shared its August calendar. The month blends house-brewed beer, curry, and spice-driven food in a way that makes each visit feel like a small seasonal event.
Early August
- On Aug. 1 and 29, the taproom will run from 10:00 to 22:00 for full-day service. Aug. 1 also brings a summer-only opening with banana-leaf chilled meals.
- Aug. 5-8 features the third edition of katsuo tataki achar rice.
- On Aug. 15, DJ Hoshi will bring a Good Music popup inside the taproom.
Mid-month highlight
- Aug. 12-16 is the release window for `超完熟南高梅〜Weizen~`, brewed with ultra-ripe Nanko plums from Ume Boys. It will be paired with a plum-curry fair and plum syrup drinks.
- And Beer’s own site also highlights this beer as a fruit weizen that keeps the plum character clear and vivid.
Late August
- Aug. 19-21 is a peach-beer tasting flight of three beers. On its site, And Beer also offers `PEACH`, a fruit ale built around Yamanashi peaches and food-friendly balance.
- Aug. 26-30 will feature chicken biryani made with Awaodori chicken, timed to Koenji’s Awa Odori season. The combination of spices and fresh beer should fit the festival mood well.
This is the kind of schedule that suits a taproom built around its own beer and a serious curry menu: drop in for one drink, stay for food, and let the month’s seasonal flavors do the rest.
