Friday Special Project Starting on the 22nd
An Instagram post from Namachan Stand Shiinamachi Branch (Nagasaki, Toshima Ward, Tokyo) announces a Friday special event starting at 3:00 p.m. on the 22nd. It is a pairing planned by brewer Kobayan, with food prepared to match the limited beer W Coconut White IPA.
The key point this time is reopening the last keg of W Coconut White IPA. According to the post, this beer was the first recipe Kobayan ever wrote, and it ran dry almost immediately after it was put on tap. Because the chance to drink it again is so limited, it has plenty of appeal as a reason to visit just for the beer.
The food is Ethnic Salad for W Coconut White IPA. On top of Chinese jellyfish mixed with steamed chicken and smoked sesame oil, vegetables including fresh onions from Nerima farmer Daikokuya are layered, then finished with a spicy ethnic sauce. Cilantro can be added as well, making it a dish designed to be enjoyed together with the beer.
It will be served dine-in only, and quantities are limited. Namachan Stand Shiinamachi Branch is a brewpub centered on NAMACHA Brewing beer, and its appeal lies in the fresh-from-the-brewery feel that comes with being attached to the brewery. In the Shiinamachi area, it is fair to say this is the kind of place for people who want to quietly enjoy a dish thoughtfully matched with a limited beer.
