Garyu Brewing in Ozu, Ehime, will host a four-tap tap takeover featuring BLACK TIDE BREWING (BTB) from Kesennuma, Miyagi, starting around 4:00 p.m. on June 6.
The event is positioned as a second installment after the positive response to Ise Kadoya Beer during Golden Week. From 7:00 p.m., the brewery plans to connect with BTB president Danji on Zoom for a group toast, along with brewery introductions, beer introductions, and a talk about the connection between the two breweries.
Garyu Brewing is based in a red-brick warehouse that dates back to the Taisho era, and its taproom lets visitors enjoy fresh beer on site. The brewery is also known for using local Ozu fruit in its beers, reflecting its ongoing focus on regional ingredients and place-based brewing.
On the same day, Garyu Brewing will also begin pouring `Afternoon Red`, a session IPA made with blood orange from Uwajima, exclusively at `STAND SEVENs`. BTB describes the featured IPA as clean, crisp, and easy to drink, and the brewery notes that draft pours from BTB are still rare in western Japan outside of events, which makes this lineup especially notable.
