What’s on Tap This Time

UNDERGROUND Craft Beer Akabane Branch is a beer pub and bottle shop within walking distance of Akabane Station. Its appeal lies in being able to enjoy craft beer in a relaxed Brooklyn-style space, with up to 12 draft beers and more than 100 canned and bottled beers. It is an easy-to-use spot whether you are drinking alone or comparing beers with a group.

In the April 18 post, the shop announced “three taps opened today” and introduced the following three beers.

- Dieu Du Ciel! “Voyageur des Brumes” (Extra Special Bitter, 5.2%)
- Oni Densetsu “Kinoni Pale Ale Mosaic Single ver.” (Pale Ale, 5.0%)
- West Coast Brewing “No Ketchup” (Hazy Double IPA, 7.5%)

This lineup brings together an ESB that highlights malt depth, a pale ale that lets you enjoy hop aroma in a straightforward way, and a Hazy Double IPA with an expected rich, full-bodied mouthfeel. With three beers of different styles side by side, it creates an easy flow from first glass to comparison tasting.

On the food side, the shop also offers beer-friendly menu items such as craft gyoza, each one hand-wrapped in-house. Its strength lies not only in the breadth of its lineup, but also in how well it pairs with snacks. If you want to keep up with the day’s draft selections in Akabane, this is an update worth checking.
