The Grafton Beer Pub & Restaurant in Nishi-Gotanda will host the fifth Tokyo edition of 'Honne Izakaya' on October 4. The venue is a beer pub where draft craft beer sits alongside Guinness, cider, and real ale, making it a fitting setting for a beer-centered conversation night.

This time, the guests are Sakino, from Hidaka Village in Kochi, and John, who is from Scotland. After three years of work as regional revitalization volunteers, they opened Brave & Braw, a Scottish craft brewery in Hidaka Village, this summer. At the event, attendees will be able to drink Brave & Braw craft beer while hearing first-hand stories about why they chose brewing in Hidaka Village, what was hardest about relocating, and how their regional revitalization work led to the launch of the brewery.

The event is limited to around 20 participants and costs 1,000 yen. Rather than a polished talk, the appeal is the candid exchange of honest stories, including setbacks. For beer lovers interested in relocation, local entrepreneurship, or life connecting Scotland and Japan, this should be a worthwhile evening.
