Wolfbräu releases bottles and cans of “Shuri Black,” bringing the Shuri series to six varieties
The brewpub Wolfbräu in Shuri, Naha, has launched “Shuri Black (Black IPA),” a beer that combines the toasty aroma of black malt, hop bitterness, and a fruity finish, now available in both bottles and cans. It can be purchased in-store, and online sales begin on May 26.
From the brewpub “Wolfbräu” in Shuriiheba-cho, Naha City, comes news of a new house-brewed beer. The latest release is “Shuri Black (Black IPA)”. Both bottles and cans are available in stores starting today, and sales in the online shop will begin on May 26.
The style is Black IPA. It is designed to layer the toasty character of heavily roasted malt with hop bitterness, while leaving a fruity aftertaste. Rather than leaning too far into an all-black appearance, it is the kind of beer that stands out through its balance of aroma, bitterness, and finish, making it one to watch not only for fans of dark beers but also for IPA drinkers.
Wolfbräu is a brewpub in Shuri where you can enjoy craft beer in town. One of its charms is that you can not only drink it on site, but also take it home in bottles or cans. With the addition of this new “Shuri Black,” the Shuri series has grown to a total of six varieties. The lineup is:
- Shuri Red (Amber Ale)
- Shuri Yellow (Kölsch)
- Shuri no Kaze (Citrus Hop Ale)
- Shuri Hazy (Hazy IPA)
- Shuri Lager (Original Lager)
- Shuri Black (Black IPA)
From ale and lager to hazy, citrus-forward styles, and now a dark beer, the series spans a wide range. True to its identity as a Shuri brewpub, the lineup makes side-by-side comparisons easy, and it should also open up more enjoyment when paired with food. It would also be a nice stop to make while strolling around the Shuri Castle area, enjoying a freshly poured beer on the spot.
