According to an Instagram post from Chuo Line Beer Works, the brewery announced its first appearance at the "72nd Koganei Sakura Festival." The event will be held over two days, Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the plaza in front of the Open-Air Architectural Museum in Tokyo Metropolitan Koganei Park. Event hours are listed as 10:00 to 20:00, with hours on the 29th until 18:00.
At this booth, Chuo Line Beer Works will sell its own brewed beers. Also drawing attention is "Poppoya Ale." The post介绍s that it uses hops grown by employees who work at stations and station buildings along the Chuo and Nambu lines, making it a beer that feels very much like this brewery, where railroad-side work connects with craft beer making.
As for service, the brewery plans to serve the beer from taps this time, with no cans for sale. Payment will be limited to transportation IC cards such as Suica, credit cards, and QR code payments; cash will not be accepted. It will be smoother if you confirm your payment method before visiting.
On its official website, Chuo Line Beer Works presents the theme, "Beer that began at the station, building bridges to the city," and explains that its brewing business grew out of hop cultivation by people along the Chuo Line and station staff. Another hallmark is a system in which former station staff work on product development as brewers. From its base in Koganei, Tokyo, the brewery has been sharing the culture of the railway corridor and the appeal of the local area through beer, so its first participation in a regional spring event also fits the context of its activities.
The post also says that about 30 vendors, including local food stalls and kitchen cars, are expected to set up at the venue, and that a night cherry blossom illumination is also planned, weather permitting. If you want to weave craft beer into your hanami route, this is a place worth stopping by after checking the serving conditions on site.
