Five guest beers from Y.MARKET BREWING

Craftbeer Sloth House/Sloth House in Tsurumachi, Yokohama, introduced five guest beers from Y.MARKET BREWING. As a beer pub that is easy to drop into, its location near a residential area makes it a comfortable spot for taking time with a glass.

The lineup includes `Over Drive Pale Ale`, `Over Drive IPA`, `MINAMICHITA Bergamot IPA`, `Lupulin Nectar`, and `NEW Onigashima IX`. Even within one brewery, the beers show clearly different personalities, from sharp citrus and tropical fruit to fruit-driven aromatics and juicy hop intensity, which makes the set well suited to comparison tasting.

`Over Drive Pale Ale` is built around grapefruit and orange aromas, with a subtle pineapple-like tropical layer on top. It feels light on the palate, with gentle and clean bitterness.

`Over Drive IPA` keeps the citrus profile but pushes the bitterness further and finishes drier. The result is a more defined and assertive expression of the same “Over Drive” theme.

`MINAMICHITA Bergamot IPA` is a fruit IPA made with bergamot from Minamichita. Its aroma suggests bergamot, lemon tea, and Earl Grey, giving it a bright and fragrant profile.

`Lupulin Nectar` uses a heavy dose of hops, yet the bitterness stays soft. The beer leans into a juicy, tropical-juice-like character.

`NEW Onigashima IX` is an annual collaboration beer with layers of mango, peach, citrus, and pear-like notes, finishing in a lively, easy-drinking way.

At a place like Sloth House, where beer and food can be enjoyed together, guest beers with distinct personalities help define the shop’s appeal. It is the kind of lineup that encourages a relaxed visit and careful attention to aroma and bitterness differences.
