Today's lineup

Marumugi, a small beer pub on the second floor in Arakicho, Shinjuku, updated its tap list for July 16. The board starts from large pours at JPY 1,200 plus tax and small pours at JPY 900 plus tax, and this time it features five beers from breweries across Japan.

- Africa Pale Ale / Shiga Kogen Beer (Nagano)
A session IPA with a light body and a solid hop presence. The detailed note highlights bright hop aroma and a bitterness that invites another sip.

- Lush Hop IPA / Ise Kadoya Beer (Mie)
A citrus-forward American IPA with classic hop character and a clean, modern finish.

- Ritsunosuke Monogatari: Bakushu / Romantic Village Craft Brewery (Tochigi)
A German-style lager brewed with Tochigi barley. It leans toward a rounded malt profile and should pair well with food.

- Brown Ale / Ise Kadoya Beer (Mie)
Built around toasted malt and restrained bitterness, this is the kind of beer that works well when you want depth rather than flash.

- Aka Post IPA / OGA BREWING (Tokyo)
A red IPA with a sunset-like color and a nostalgic, toasty impression.

The detailed section also describes Africa Pale Ale as a Session IPA and Aka Post IPA as a Red IPA, both positioned as balanced beers that keep hop aroma and drinkability in view.

Marumugi has been open since January 15, 2011, and is a short walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome Station. The shop also notes that Tuesdays and public holidays are closed, making it an easy stop for a quiet pint after work.
