Sakata Traditional Beer, which brews craft beer in Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, has launched a new product, "SHINE MUSCAT BLANC." The official news announcement said sales began on April 10, 2026, and the online store lists it as a six-bottle set.
This beer uses 20% Shine Muscat grapes grown by producers in Tsuruoka and Sakata. It is a happoshu finished with malt (made in Germany), Shonai-grown Shine Muscat, hops, and carbon dioxide, and its alcohol content is 4.5%. The contents are 330 ml, and it is shipped by refrigerated delivery.
In the product description, the key point is its aroma and taste reminiscent of white wine. In addition, when the yeast and malt components are settled, you can enjoy the fruity character of muscat like sparkling wine, and mixing in the sediment adds a beer-like flavor. The design, which changes its expression within a single bottle, is likely to attract not only fans of fruit beer but also drinkers who prefer wine-like flavors.
Sakata Traditional Beer brews on the factory grounds in Kyoden, Sakata City, and has been developing products rooted in the local community while incorporating local specialties. In addition to its standard pale ale, IPA, white ale, and stout, it has also rolled out limited-quantity products featuring safflower and other local ingredients. This new Shine Muscat release can be seen as part of that same trend.
