Bistro Shun in Oita Adds Kiritani Farm Wines and Mont Vin
At Bistro Shun, a beer pub in Funaimachi, Oita, the first batch from Kiritani Farm has arrived. The lineup includes two micro-sparkling wines, `O-matsuri Blanc 2025` and `O-matsuri Rouge 2025`, plus `Mont Vin` from Beppu Brewery x Ohashi Denki.
At `Craft Beer Specialty Shop Bistro Shun` in Funaimachi, Oita, the venue says the first batch from Kiritani Farm has arrived. Housed on the second floor of the Wakatake Building, the beer pub is now offering a lineup that crosses over between wine and beer.
The wines highlighted are `O-matsuri Blanc 2025` and `O-matsuri Rouge 2025`. `O-matsuri Blanc 2025` is made from 100% Niagara grapes and is described as having bright sweet-and-sour fruit, lively bubbles, and a fragrant muscat aroma. It is positioned as a good match for ethnic dishes and richer flavors. `O-matsuri Rouge 2025`, made from 100% Gamay, is said to have gentle tannin and bitterness, with pairings aimed at soy sauce, sauce-based, and tomato-based dishes.
For beer fans, the key pour is `Mont Vin`, slated for the ninth tap. It is a sour ale from Beppu Brewery x Ohashi Denki, made with grape skins grown at Kiritani Farm, and is presented as a beer that drinks like wine. With eight taps of wine followed by a beer that bridges the two categories, Bistro Shun is leaning into a style that fits both the food and the bar. A tasting event is also planned for August 29, making this a notable stop for anyone in Oita looking for a new glass to try.
