At the craft beer and spice food spot Neko no Shukai-jo in Umegaoka, there is an announcement that the large-bottle series "Yamabushi" from Shiga Kogen Beer is being served by the glass. The final day is said to be May 31, making this a chance to enjoy rare bottled beer opened at the shop.

Large-bottle beers

This time, two beers from Shiga Kogen Beer's "Yamabushi" series will be opened.
- Yamabushi Ni / b3 miyama
- Yamabushi OSGN Grand Cru / Ork Aged OXBOW collaboration

Large bottles can sometimes feel difficult to open at the right time, but this time the shop opens them and serves them by the glass, so you can enjoy them without worrying about condition. Being able to calmly drink barrel-aged beers like these is one of the pleasures unique to a beer pub.

Today's tap list

Draft beer is available in three sizes, and takeaway in cups is also possible.
- Ocean Avenue (Session IPA) / CRAFTROCK
- Pirono Helles (Helles) / Pirono
- Cascara (Dunkel w/Coffee Cherry) / Flora Farmentation
- KASUMI (Hazy Session IPA) / Shiga Kogen
- Super Fresh (Hazy DIPA) / WCB x Inkhorn collaboration
- Seki (West Coast IPA) / OHLOY

Looking at the lineup, it spans everything from IPA and Helles to Dunkel and Hazy DIPA, making it easy to choose from light beers to more substantial ones. You can move between bottles and draft, and drink according to your mood that day.

How to use the shop

Neko no Shukai-jo is notable not only for drinking beer, but also for enjoying cans and bottles on site while buying them. Because spice food is available as well, it works well both for beer on its own and alongside a meal. It is the kind of place you'd want to stop by on a day when you want to casually try a somewhat unusual beer in Umegaoka.
