Aozora Brewery Introduces TENYA IPA at Sasebo's "Sasebo Quayside Bar"
Ahead of the "Sasebo Quayside Bar with Japanet Cruise" being held at Sasebo Port, the official Port Department Instagram introduced Aozora Brewery Hakata Tenyamachi. The recommended beer is `TENYA IPA`, which won gold at IBC 2025, and information about venue-exclusive novelties has also been announced.
The official Port Department Instagram is introducing each participating brewery one by one ahead of the upcoming "Sasebo Quayside Bar with Japanet Cruise." Among this event, which brings together craft beer from across Kyushu, Aozora Brewery appeared as a brewpub located in Tenyamachi, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City.
Aozora Brewery is a brewery that began production in 2022 in Hakata's old downtown area. Centered on classic beer styles, it brews a wide range of beers tailored to the seasons and events, and in 2025 it also opened a second location, "Kaizuka Station Stand." Expanding places where people can casually experience craft beer in the city is another defining feature of this brewery.
The beer highlighted in this post as a recommendation was `TENYA IPA`. It is a label that won gold at the International Beer Cup 2025, and is described as featuring a citrus-like hop aroma and the sweetness of malt. The bitterness is moderate, and because it maintains a good balance with the alcohol impression, it is also suited to slowly enjoying a pint.
The post also explains that the breweries will be introduced one by one with swipe actions, suggesting a setup where visitors can broadly enjoy Kyushu craft beer across the entire venue. In addition, there was an announcement that by following the official Port Department Instagram and answering a survey at the "Minato Oasis Headquarters" inside the venue, visitors could receive an original tote bag.
One of the attractions of this event is being able to enjoy beer and food together in the open space of the port. With breweries like Aozora Brewery, which has nurtured craft beer culture in everyday life in Fukuoka, taking part, the individuality of Kyushu seems likely to gather even more strongly on Sasebo's quayside.
