DD4D Brewing, based in Matsuyama, Ehime, announced a limited collaboration beer with Takanoko Hotel and Takanoko no Yu on June 26. The beer is designed as a post-bath pint for a property known for its natural hot spring and sauna, pairing local hospitality with a craft-beer finish.

Beer profile

Takanoko IPA is an IPA with grapefruit, passion fruit, and pine-like hop aromas, followed by a firm bitterness and a malt-driven finish. It is classified as happoshu, with 6.0% ABV and 35 IBU. The hop bill uses Simcoe, Citra, and Columbus, while the malt is Pilsen.

Availability

The beer goes on sale at the first-floor front desk of Takanoko Hotel starting June 26, and at the in-house vending machine inside Takanoko no Yu starting July 1. It will not be sold at DD4D's own shop, so the release is limited to specific on-site locations. The label design was handled by Shigenori Nakamura.
