Tap List for May 13

15brewery (Fifteen Brewery) in Horiuchi, Hayama Town continued its takeaway-only style on its May 13 business day. Standing-drink service is suspended, and beer is poured into sealed bottles, carbonated-beverage-compatible PET bottles, screw-cap glass bottles, and other containers for customers to take home.

The lineup for the day featured five beers: the Belgian-style "Bottom of the Swamp," the dark beer "Stout," the fruit beer "Orange Ale," the wheat-forward "Wheat Land," and "Raw Hazy IPA." With a wide range of flavors, the selection was set up so customers could compare different styles all in one place.

"Bottom of the Swamp" is a complex, spicy beer made with orange peel, coriander seed, chamomile, and cloves, plus lime from Owase in Mie Prefecture and honey from Nagai in Yokosuka. "Stout" is a dark beer with deep richness and a roasted character, while "Orange Ale" stands out for its citrus aroma and acidity.

"Wheat Land" is a beer made by adding plenty of wheat malt to barley malt and finishing it with a light drinking profile backed by hop aroma reminiscent of white wine. Another distinctive point is that part of the ingredients uses baguettes from Miura bakery Mitsumugi. "Raw Hazy IPA" also uses Mitsumugi baguettes, and with a Raw Ale process that does not boil the wort, it brings out aromas and bitterness reminiscent of citrus and pine needles.

Freshly made beer, taken home as is from Hayama's seaside area. The local character that defines 15brewery is clearly reflected in this tap list as well.
