Fukuoka's Neko Beer Begins Serving Session IPA "Ganso Nekoshogot!" on Its 1-Year Anniversary Milestone
Fukuoka craft brewery Neko Beer announced a new beer, Session IPA "Ganso Nekoshogot!". Released as the latest version of its "NEKO first unit," it was rebuilt based on the initial recipe to mark one year since obtaining its brewing license. Serving began at BEERKICHI on March 12.
Neko Beer, which brews in Fukuoka, announced the release of its new beer, "Ganso Nekoshogot!" on Instagram. The style is Session IPA, and the alcohol content is 4.5%. The malt is Pilsner, and the hops are listed as Citra / Motueka / CitraCryo / DynaBoost Citra / Motueka kife, with the beer designed to deliver a bright hop aroma within a crisp, easy-drinking body.
In the post, the brewery positions this beer as the latest version of the "NEKO first unit." March 13 marks exactly one year since Neko Beer obtained its brewing license. For this batch, the brewery revisited its original recipe and updated it with its current knowledge, resulting in what it described as a finish that feels like the "culmination of one year." While looking back at the brand's origins, the reworking reflects its present point in time, a fitting approach for a brewery still in its early growth phase.
Serving began at BEERKICHI on March 12. The post also says the brewery will begin handling outside sales from early next week, and it is asking stores considering carrying the beer to contact them via DM. It also reported that this week's brew brought the total to batch number 41.
With its bright hop character and lower alcohol content, Session IPA is a classic category that tends to gain demand from early spring into early summer. As Neko Beer polishes its "first step" once again at this one-year milestone, "Ganso Nekoshogot!" is a beer worth watching as a sign of what the brewery's next year may bring.
