Yatsugatake Brewery said on Instagram that its planned double tap takeover at Taihu Tokyo in Kagurazaka would be moved to Saturday, July 4. The original date was Saturday, June 27, and the post explained that the change was made because of the typhoon and safety concerns.

Taihu Tokyo is a Tokyo taproom built around Taiwanese craft beer and food, so the pairing makes sense: Yatsugatake’s clean, malt-driven lagers in a venue with a strong Taiwanese identity. It is the kind of collaboration that invites people to enjoy beer in a food-forward setting rather than treating it as a stand-alone pour.

Yatsugatake Brewery is based in Kiyosato, Hokuto City, Yamanashi, at an altitude of 1,230 meters. The brewery uses the clear water of the Yatsugatake foothills and a traditional decoction mash to draw out malt richness and depth. Since 1997, it has brewed under the Yatsugatake Beer Touchdown brand with a clear focus on lager quality.

That focus has earned recognition: Kiyosato Lager won the Lager category’s top honor at the World Beer Awards 2023, and Pilsner took first place in Japan at the Japan Brewers Cup 2024. Against that background, the postponed takeover remains a noteworthy event for fans who follow lager craftsmanship closely.
