Two contrasting guest beers

Moyamoya Base, a beer pub in central Sapporo, announced a guest-keg rotation. The two beers now on tap are Miyazaki Hideji Beer’s "Nichinan Lemon Fresh Squeezed Session Hazy IPA" and NEKOBEER’s "Chocolatier Nyampachi - Almond Vanilla Milk Stout." It is a pairing with a wide range: one bright and citrusy, the other soft, sweet, and dessert-like.

The Session Hazy IPA leans into lemon character and keeps the body light, making it an easy first pour. Its hazy texture should bring a gentle mouthfeel without weighing things down, so it fits well when you want something refreshing.

By contrast, the Almond Vanilla Milk Stout sounds like a beer to sip slowly. Notes of chocolate, vanilla, and almond suggest a rounded, sweet finish, closer to a dessert course than a palate cleanser. The contrast between the two beers makes the rotation more interesting.

That is part of the appeal of Moyamoya Base: you can follow changing guest taps in the middle of Sapporo and choose a beer based on the moment. Checking the post before visiting helps you aim for the current tap list, which is exactly what a beer pub should make easy.
