Shibuya’s Taki〜AKANE〜 opens at 5 p.m. on 3/31, showcasing spring ingredients and three draft beers
The beer pub “Taki〜AKANE〜JapaneseBeer&SakeDining” on Dogenzaka in Shibuya will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday, March 31. For the first two hours after opening, “Akane’s Happy Time” offers drinks for 100 yen off, making it possible to enjoy draft beer and sake alongside spring ingredients.
The Dogenzaka spot “Taki〜AKANE〜JapaneseBeer&SakeDining” in Shibuya operates as a Japanese dining venue centered on beer and sake. In this announcement, it will open at 5 p.m. and close at midnight on Tuesday, March 31. For the two hours after opening, guests can enjoy “Akane’s Happy Time,” with drinks discounted by 100 yen.
Three draft beers will be on offer that day. The lineup features COEDO’s “Shibunama,” Hitachino Nest Beer’s “White Ale,” and Minoh Beer’s “Osaru IPA.” Each is a Japanese craft beer with its own personality, creating a selection that makes it easy to compare a light white-style beer, an aromatic ale, and a hop-forward IPA.
The sake selection is also well stocked, with Ryujin, Kawanakajima Genbu, Amabuki, Yamanokotobuki, Mitsui no Kotobuki, Chokaisan, Kakuemon, and Kariho, among others. Being able to move freely between beer and sake according to the mood of the day is one of this restaurant’s strengths.
The food clearly leans into spring. Clams are served as sake-steamed clams, bamboo shoots are offered grilled and as tempura, and dishes using Toyama firefly squid, seri, and fresh onions are also available. The fresh fish includes bonito, young yellowtail, striped jack, and sardines. It feels natural to start with an easy first glass of craft beer, pair it with seasonal snacks, and then move on to sake.
Like a beer pub on Dogenzaka, it is a place where casualness and the calm of Japanese dining coexist. The spring tap list and seasonal dishes are worth checking out from the 5 p.m. opening.
