On May 27, Taki〜AKANE〜 in Shibuya is best visited right after opening

The beer pub "Taki〜AKANE〜JapaneseBeer&SakeDining" in Dogenzaka, Shibuya, will be open from 5:00 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday, May 27. In its post, the shop is promoting an "Akane Happy Time!" with 100 yen off for the first two hours after opening, making it an easy day to stop by for an early drink after work.

The draft lineup for the day consists of three beers in total: two from Wakayama's Nagisa Beer, plus Umenishiki Beer from Ehime. The lineup is:

- Nagisa Beer American Wheat
- Nagisa Beer Mikan Ale
- Umenishiki Beer Pilsner

From the soft character of wheat malt in the American Wheat, to the citrus-like notes you can imagine in the Mikan Ale, and the clean drinking profile of the Pilsner, the three beers offer distinctly different directions.

The shop's concept is to make it easy to enjoy Japanese craft beer and sake in Dogenzaka, Shibuya. In addition to draft beer, it often taps sake as well, which is part of what makes it unique: you can focus on beer while also pairing it with Japanese alcoholic drinks. The food menu also includes fresh fish, delicacies, and Daisen chicken snacks, making it easy to move from a light first drink into a meal.

In this post, the shop also says there are four days left until its final business day, which gives the occasion a sense of being a milestone. If you're drinking craft beer in Shibuya, it looks like the best move is to time your visit for the happy hour right after opening and compare the two Nagisa beers with Umenishiki Pilsner.
