A beer pub in Nogata showcases 8 taps

NEIGHBOR, a craft beer shop on the first floor of J-ARC Nogata in Nogata, Nakano Ward, Tokyo, is a craft beer bar. In a post on May 17, it announced that it would open at 12 noon and shared that day’s tap list. The post described it as a “good beer day,” highlighting not only the strong draft beer lineup but also the arrival of new shochu.

That day’s tap list

The lineup consisted of eight beers in total. It began with FLORA FERMENTATION’s `Constancia` (Mexican Amber Lager, 5%), followed by And Beer’s `Chou Kanjuku Nanko Ume~Weizen~` (Fruit Weizen, 6.6%), Miyazaki Hideji Beer’s `Kurikuro` (Dark Chestnut Ale, 9%), and BLADE FACTORY BREWING’s `WHETSTONE` (Hefeweizen, 5%), giving the first half a broad range from wheat beers to dark styles.

The second half featured Bighand Bros. Beer’s `KURGANTAITE` (English Pale Ale, 4%), Gangi Brewing’s `ON CIRCUS` (Hazy IPA w/Spice&Herb, 5%), Miura Brewery’s `MIURA Coast IPA` (IPA, 6%), and Barebottle Brewing’s `Miami Rice` (West Coast IPA w/Jasmine Rice, 6.5%). From a gentle pale ale to an IPA with herbs and spice, and even a West Coast IPA made with rice, the range is wide enough to make comparison tasting especially interesting.

A place to enjoy with food

In NEIGHBOR’s post, the recommended food items were `Classic Hot Dog`, `Charcoal-Grilled Lettuce Caesar Salad`, `Sirloin Steak`, `White Liver Mousse`, `Jerk Chicken Rice`, `Rare-Grilled Tuna`, and `Squid and Karasumi Peperoncino`. Centered on charcoal-grilled dishes, the shop’s strength is that you can pair food with whichever beer style you choose.

If you want to drink craft beer in Nogata, this is a place worth checking out as a shop where you can see the draft lineup. The post also included notes for customers visiting with dogs, and the overall impression is of a neighborhood beer pub with a practical, easy-to-use everyday style.
