The beer pub BEER OTAKU SPICE in Taito, Taito Ward, Tokyo, announced its menu and rotating draft beer lineup for April 26. Lunch runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. last order, and dinner runs from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. last order, with the lunch period offering both biryani and mazesoba.

The biryani of the day is tuna. True to the restaurant’s identity as a spice-focused spot, the dish puts seafood at the center. Compared with a heavier meat-based biryani, it is easier to keep eating thanks to its balance of lightness and aroma. For a meal suited to the short lunch window, it is easy to pair with beer as well.

The beer pairing is Ise Kadoya Beer’s DDH Citra Hazy IPA. This hazy IPA puts Citra hops front and center, with citrus aromas and a soft fruity character. It is a beer that can stand up to the spice in the biryani while layering its aroma neatly over the dish. Once again, BEER OTAKU SPICE clearly shows off what it does best as a place where you can enjoy satisfying food and a substantial craft beer pour at the same table.
