PEPOWN introduces two "TOUCH OF GRAPE" beers from GAIRO Brewing in Yamagata
At PEPOWN in Chigasaki, two grape ales from Yamagata Prefecture's GAIRO Brewing were introduced. TOUCH OF GRAPE Delaware is 4.5%, and TOUCH OF GRAPE BERRY A is 5.0%; both are presented as beers that make the most of grape-derived aroma and acidity.
PEPOWN's Instagram posted a beer feature highlighting GAIRO Brewing from Yamagata Prefecture. The beers introduced are `TOUCH OF GRAPE Delaware` and `TOUCH OF GRAPE BERRY A`. Both are Italian Grape Ales, crafted with grape elements woven into a distinctive profile.
`TOUCH OF GRAPE Delaware` is 4.5%. It is brewed with pomace from orange wine (Chardonnay) and wild yeast, and its aroma is supported by German hops and locally grown hops. It is described as having layered flavors of tropical notes from the grape skins, acidity, and tannins. `TOUCH OF GRAPE BERRY A` is 5.0%. It uses fermentation derived from pomace from red wine (Berry A), along with grapes from Kaminoyama and Koana, plus French and Yamagata hops, and is characterized by a fragrant aroma and a smooth, gentle drinking impression.
PEPOWN is a shop in the south exit area of Chigasaki Station that carries "good drinks" centered on beer. While it has the face of a bottle shop, its appeal is that you can also face each beer one glass at a time in the store. For people looking for beers with grape or wine-like nuances rather than ordinary IPAs or lagers, guest beers like these offer an easy entry point. It was the kind of post that calmly explains the differences in style rather than hyping them up.
