Sansho Lager is back

Craft Beer Market Otemachi’s Instagram post announces the return of CRAFTROCK BREWING’s Sansho Lager. The beer won gold in the Herb & Spice Beer category at the 2026 World Beer Cup. It is a lager with sansho, listed at 5.0% ABV and 20 IBU, with a profile designed to keep the spice character clear while staying highly drinkable.

Built around Japanese sansho

According to the post, Sansho Lager uses grape sansho sourced through the famous eel restaurant Unagi Takase in Hachioji, with the spice carefully ground in a stone mill. The brewery note says the goal was to highlight the aroma and flavor of sansho while preserving the balance of a lager. That makes it a natural fit as a food beer, especially in a venue known for Mexican dishes.

What to watch at the Otemachi branch

The Otemachi branch sits right by Otemachi Station and is known for frequent limited-beer rotations. The official site highlights 30 beers on the party-plan menu, along with tacos, burritos, and other Mexican dishes. The post also advertises a SIBEERIA BREWERY 15-tap takeover starting at 12:00 on July 4, making the branch a place to keep an eye on for guest-beer fans.
