Anniversary collaboration on tap
THE ALL DAY, a beer pub in Higashi-Mukojima, Sumida, Tokyo, highlighted a collaboration beer with South Aizu Mountain Brewing: RIDE on SAN. Brewed to celebrate THE ALL DAY’s third anniversary, the beer is a sanpin-cha golden ale at 4.5% ABV.
Built on HEY YA
The beer is based on HEY YA, described as a near-standard beer from South Aizu Mountain Brewing. Using rice grown in Minami-Aizu as the foundation, the recipe layers Okinawan sanpin-cha on top, adding jasmine-like aromatics, citrus notes reminiscent of orange, and a tea-like impression.
Designed to be easy to drink
The tasting notes point to bright jasmine and marmalade on the nose, a light mouthfeel with a fuller body, and restrained bitterness with a dry finish. It is positioned as a beer that can be enjoyed from the first pour through late in the day, which fits the relaxed craft-beer focus of THE ALL DAY.
A fitting guest beer for a craft-beer pub
Known as a craft-beer pub in the Hikifune area, THE ALL DAY often uses guest beers to add new layers to its lineup and showcase the brewing story behind each release. RIDE on SAN combines the crispness associated with South Aizu Mountain Brewing and the unique aroma of sanpin-cha, making it a timely beer for the venue’s anniversary lineup.
