Kochi Campagne Brewery launches a limited Guava Tropical Hazy IPA
TOSACO, the brand of Kochi Campagne Brewery, has introduced a limited-release Guava Tropical Hazy IPA made with naturally grown guava. The reservation-only beer is limited to about 330 bottles and will begin shipping sequentially from July 9.
Kochi Campagne Brewery, which operates under the TOSACO name in Kochi Prefecture's Kami City, is now offering Guava Tropical Hazy IPA as a limited reservation product. The beer is priced at 1,000 yen including tax, and the brewery says only about 330 bottles were produced. Shipping is scheduled to begin sequentially from July 9.
A tropical hazy IPA built for summer
The beer is based on TOSACO's regular Arigatosako hazy IPA. According to the product page, it features a South Seas-style aroma with notes reminiscent of mango and coconut, along with a soft and juicy mouthfeel. It comes in at 7% ABV and is described as having gentle bitterness. The ingredients include malt, guava, oats, hops, wheat, and lactose.
Local ingredients and the people behind them
The key fruit is guava grown by Nishikawa Farm in Nankoku City, Kochi, using no pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The brewery also highlights the labor behind the fruit: careful tasks such as pruning and pest control are carried out by people with disabilities as part of an agricultural-welfare collaboration. That background gives the beer more than just flavor; it adds a clear social context as well.
TOSACO's local approach
TOSACO presents itself as a brewery focused on beers made with ingredients from Kochi. Its brewery site in Kami City also includes a small tap stand where visitors can enjoy draft beer. This release fits that approach well: it uses local produce, keeps the batch small, and leans into a style that naturally suits fruit-forward summer drinking.
Suggested pairings
The product page recommends pairing it with spicy dishes such as tacos or Thai curry, fried foods and seafood with lemon, or salty starters like prosciutto with fruit or cream cheese. The result is a seasonal beer designed to work as both a standalone drink and a food-friendly option.
