Three distinctive beers at Taki

Taki, located on the third floor of Shibuya Johnson Building in Sakuragaoka, Tokyo, is currently holding a 15th-anniversary event. The pub is known for pairing Japanese craft beer and sake with seasonal ingredients, fresh fish, and dishes designed to complement drinks.

The featured lineup includes three beers. The main attraction is Matsue Beer Herun’s Weizen, brewed exclusively with German ingredients. At 6.0% ABV and 8 IBU, it offers banana-like aromas, gentle bitterness, and a soft wheat-beer body. Its restrained bitterness makes it an appealing choice alongside Japanese food.

Also available is LEMENBRAU, a collaboration between HIGHBURY and BAEREN. The third tap is Sansho Jasmine from T.Y.HARBOR Brewery, offering a more distinctive aromatic profile shaped by sansho pepper and jasmine. Together, the three beers provide a broad tasting flight, moving from a smooth wheat beer to a collaborative release and a spice- and floral-accented beer.

Taki maintains three rotating taps and places importance on its relationships with brewers. Its relaxed setting makes it suitable for enjoying beer with food, while the sake selection gives guests another way to explore Japan’s drinks culture.

Tap availability may change, so guests should check the latest list when visiting. The anniversary event offers a timely opportunity to try several contrasting beers at one of Shibuya’s established beer-and-sake pubs.
