PEPOWN in Kyoei, Chigasaki City, Kanagawa, will host “Salsa Weekend!” from Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13.

The event centers on a pairing of Mexican-style food made with chilies from Peppers.jp and a beer lineup selected to match. Peppers.jp grows chilies in Annaka, Gunma, and the weekend menu will feature taco options with beef and fish fritters, jalapeño poppers, and tortilla dip, with ceviche and chili con carne also planned.

On the beer side, the lineup includes Passific Brewing’s “Curious,” along with a Mexican lager and a new sour ale. Curious is a sour brewed with cucumber and jalapeño, making it a natural fit for the chili-driven dishes on offer. The mix of crisp lager and tart sour beers should give the meal a clear, food-friendly rhythm.
